University of Ljubljana Central Technical Library participates in the Community Science project from March 2020 <\/span>COVID.SI<\/span><\/a>. As part of this project, we are now proud to join the campaign to 3D print earmuffs, also known as wuhobrani.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a thin strap at the back of the head that holds the elastics of the face mask in place of the ears.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences, the RTV Slovenia web portal and the Delo newspaper house have declared the word \"wuhobran\" to be <\/span>the neologism of 2020<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As they say:\"...It is a product that is donated by volunteers to health staff and must not be resold. It ensures that the straps of the mask do not burn the ears when used for a long time. As it is spelled with a double w, it has an additional meaning as it can be associated with the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the pandemic is said to have started...\"<\/span><\/p>\n
