The Patent Information Centre (PATLIB) operates in the Central Technical Library in Ljubljana under the auspices of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office (UILSince 2005, library users and members can use the reading rooms free of charge, access national and international electronic databases on intellectual property protection, browse technical literature in print or electronic form, and contact experienced information specialists if they have any questions.
In PATLIB CTK we offer to our members and other library visitors:
- basic information on obtaining patent protection (patent strategy in Slovenia, general procedure for filing documents at home and abroad, referral to relevant experts and authorities)
- assistance in searching for patents, designs and trade marks in databases (use of Espacenet and other international databases, national registers, European Patent Register, etc.)
- general information on copyright law
- cataloguing and verification of patent and design records in COBISS
- training by prior arrangement (basic information on copyright and industrial property rights, demonstration of database searches and interpretation of results).
