The Council of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana, in accordance with Article 11 of the Decision on the Establishment of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 60/03, 44/07, 90/10 and 79/23) and Article 35 of the Statutes of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana, hereby announces a vacancy for the post of
Director of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana (CTK)
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
- citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia
- at least a level of education completed on a second-level study programme or a level of education corresponding to the level of education completed on a second-level study programme and classified at level 8 of the Slovenian Qualifications Framework in accordance with the law governing the Slovenian Qualifications Framework,
- pass a library exam,
- at least five years' experience in a managerial capacity in librarianship or other information or related activities,
- experience of working with the University of Ljubljana,
- active knowledge of at least one world language,
- leadership and organisational skills
Applicants must enclose with their application:
- CV describing experience in management positions in librarianship or other information or related activities, experience of working with the University of Ljubljana and your managerial and organisational skills,
- evidence of the conditions referred to in the previous paragraph (proof of citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia, proof of the required qualifications, proof of having passed the librarianship examination, proof of at least five years' experience in a managerial capacity in librarianship or other information or related activities, proof of active knowledge of at least one world language),
- the vision for the operation and development of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana for the term of office.
The Director's term of office is 5 years, after which he or she may be reappointed.
Candidates should send their applications with a CV, evidence of fulfilling the above conditions and a vision of the activities and development of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana for the period of the call for applications in a sealed envelope marked "DO NOT OPEN - CALL FOR DIRECTOR" within 10 working days of the publication of the call for applications to the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana, Trg republike 3, 1000 Ljubljana.
Only applications received on time and in full from candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for the selection procedure. Applications will be deemed to have been received in time if they are received within 10 working days of the publication of the call for applications at the Secretariat of the Central Technical Library of the University of Ljubljana (CTK). Applications submitted by registered post will be deemed to have been received in time if they are postmarked no later than the last day of the deadline for submission of applications. Applicants may also submit their applications in person at the CTK Registry during office hours (Monday to Friday: 08.00 to 14.00).
Unsuccessful candidates will be notified of the outcome of the call by 20.11.2024.
