During the week, after 21:00 and on Saturdays after 17:00 (during extended weekends), the library is open for reading, which means that the library is only for studying in the reading room and borrowing either pre-ordered material from the stock or material from the reading room (free access). Material can only be borrowed with a card at the book machine. During this time, it is not possible to sign in in person at the library, borrow books without a library card or pay debts. Online registration is possible for:
- students of the University of Ljubljana and
- employees for a full year's membership fee, which must be paid in order to release the possibility of borrowing material. Payment can also be made online.

Students of the University of Ljubljana have paid the enrolment fee, so the price displayed during online enrolment is for information only. After enrolling in our library, you need to download the mCOBISS app on your mobile phone, where under the Membership tab you will find the barcode of your library card, which you can use to borrow materials from the book machine.
