Miro Pušnik has received the Kalan Fund Award

The Kalan Fund awards ceremony took place on 16 September 2026 at this year’s ZBDS congress.

Among the recipients was our much-loved former director, Miro Pušnik, MA. Together with Dunja Legat, MA, they were honoured for their editorial work Scientific communication, open science and libraries: a message from the guest editors. His son, Matija Pušnik, accepted the award on his behalf.

This year’s ZBDS conference encouraged reflection on the sort of libraries we need, the role they should play in the future, and how we can work together to shape the future direction of the Slovenian library sector.

In the programme section, CTK staff members Tilen Mandelj, Acting Director, and Tea Romih took part. In addition to delivering the opening address, Tilen Mandelj gave a presentation on the topic ‘The End of the Project Period?’ and took part in the round-table discussion ‘The Librarians in the Slovenian Context’, Tea Romih, meanwhile, took part in the round-table discussion ‘Centres of Excellence: from the experience of general libraries to a model for Slovenian librarianship?’.
