INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING CTK RESOURCES AND SERVICES DURING COVID-19

The library is also reopening the doors of the reading rooms!!! Read the basic principles of hygiene measures. We ask you to follow them so that we can stay healthy and have a successful end to the school year!

General measures to be followed by employees and users of the CTK

  • All the general measures to protect against infection with the new coronavirus listed in the following link should be followed: https://www.nijz.si/sl/preprecevanje- okuzbe-z-virusom-sars-cov-2019. Materials on handwashing and hand sanitisation, cough hygiene and the correct fitting of masks are prominently displayed.
  • Employees and users must be healthy, without signs of respiratory infection (e.g. runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, fever, impaired taste, smell, etc.).
  • You must disinfect your hands when entering the library.
  • Do not touch your face, especially your mouth, nose and eyes, until your hands have been washed or disinfected.
  • Sneezing and cough hygiene must be observed.
  • The use of masks is necessary in all cases where you cannot guarantee a safety distance of at least 1.5 metres.
  • At the moment, only contactless payments are possible.

Measures to be taken by users

  • Only healthy persons without signs of respiratory infection (e.g. runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, fever, impaired sense of smell, taste, etc.) are allowed in the library.
  • Borrowing books from the library is possible only by prior arrangement (via My Library, by phone 01 2003 400 or 01 2003 448, with live chat on the website, by e-mail izposoja@ctk.uni-lj.si).
  • Users should be sure to sanitise their hands when entering and leaving the library.
  • Keep the check-in time as short as possible.
  • They should avoid touching surfaces and objects as much as possible, including avoiding flipping through books. If absolutely necessary, they should properly sanitise their hands before doing so.
  • We recommend contactless.
  • Before going out, they disinfect their hands.
  • Users should not linger outside the library entrance.
  • Users should wait at least 1.5 metres before opening the library, keeping a safety distance of at least 1.5 metres.

Handling borrowed material

  • We advise you to wipe books and other items protected by plastic sleeves, pens, etc., with an alcohol disinfectant when you get home. Other unprotected items (e.g. books that may have been leafed through by users, single sheets of paper or cardboard, etc.) should be put away in an inaccessible area and should not be used again until 1 day has elapsed.
  • If you order books by post, you are advised to place the unopened package in an inaccessible place and leave it untouched for 1 day, and then to wipe the books and other items protected by plastic sleeves and the like (CDs, DVDs, etc.) with an alcohol disinfectant. When handling the package and its contents, always take care not to touch your face (especially not your eyes, nose and mouth) and always wash or disinfect your hands thoroughly after handling.
  • Wash or disinfect your hands before and after reading the material, as well as the surface on which the material was placed. Do not leaf through the material with salty fingers. Follow all recommendations to prevent infection at all times (do not touch eyes, nose and mouth with dirty hands; observe good cough and sneeze hygiene, wash or disinfect hands, etc.).
  • If all precautions are strictly followed, the likelihood of transmitting a new virus through books will be low, based on current knowledge about the virus.
  • Use of reading rooms

    • Staff and users are encouraged to take due account of the above general measures for libraries.
    • READING ROOMS CAN ONLY BE USED BY LIBRARY MEMBERS!
    • Users should not linger outside the entrance to the library/reading room.
    • To avoid close contact, users should respect the directions to the vacant space or use floor markings/stops with strips for this purpose. Care should be taken to maintain sufficient personal distance at all times.
    • In the reading room, the distance between the study places shall be at least 1.5 m and 2 m respectively. Users should not move chairs around the room.
    • When a place becomes available, the librarian will sanitize the surfaces (e.g. table, chair, etc.) before the new user.
    • A limited number of computers and terminals are in use.
    • Daily newspapers and magazines should continue to be discontinued. Otherwise, staff should wipe the surface of the used material with an alcohol wipe or disinfectant and put it back on the shelves or treat it as "returned material" (section 1.1 Handling of library material).
Disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched by users (e.g. tables, chairs, hooks, shelves, etc.) several times a day.
    • Rooms must be ventilated continuously and efficiently. To this end, we advise that the doors of the reading rooms are kept open at all times.
