The course of life is the time from birth to death, and one of the basic needs of human beings is food and nutrition. Each stage of life has its own patterns and the need for food changes over the course of life. Children and adolescents need food for growth and development, while adults need food for work and to maintain muscle mass. Adults are aware that they are ageing and it is quite clear that in a healthy body the process of atherosclerosis takes place. This is the process of the blood vessels that supply nourishment to the tissues changing.

Fatty deposits build up in the vascular wall, the blood vessels narrow, lose tone and develop clots. The process of atherosclerosis is different for every adult, but no one is left out. The development of atherosclerosis is influenced by a poor lifestyle, too much and poorly composed food every day, lack of regular physical activity, obesity, too much alcohol, smoking and other factors. It is important to know and realise that every adult has a pair of scissors and a canvas in his or her hands when it comes to nutrition, and that an individual's greatest asset is his or her knowledge and critical reading. No one can convince the unconvinced, but it is right that experts share their knowledge, knowledge and experience.

A mature adult puts food on his or her own plate, determines the quantity and composition according to his or her emotions, in order to stay healthy and satisfy his or her own needs: to have, to love and to be.
