Self-use courses for users/members are organised on;
- The 3D printer self-study course is held on Wednesdays at 10.00 and 13.00.
- The 3D Scanner Self-use Course is held on Mondays at 10.00 and 13.00.
- The 3D sculpting course in Zbrush is held on Fridays at 10:00.
- We offer a course for independent use of sewing machines on request.
- We offer a course on how to use a soldering station independently, if required.
- We offer a beginner's Arduino course on an as-needed basis.

We offer our users a course on how to use 3D printers on their own on Wednesdays at 10.00 and 13.00. The course is scheduled for 1 hour or as required. Completion of the course allows you to use the 3D printer independently in the CTK Creation Room with professional technical support from our experts.
The 3D printing process builds a 3-dimensional object from a previously digitally created model. The 3D printer builds the object by successively adding material layer by layer, which is why this process is also known as additive manufacturing or FDM technology. The objects or parts are built in very thin layers ( 0.05 mm-0.3 mm), which allows the building of very complex geometries that are impossible to achieve with any other manufacturing process.
After completing the course you will have an overview of the complete 3D printing process from 3D design, Slicer software, 3D printer to understanding how you can apply 3D printing technology to your work.

We offer our users a 3D scanner self-study course on Mondays at 10.00 and 13.00. The course is scheduled for 45 minutes or as required. Completion of the course will enable you to use the 3D scanner independently in the CTK Creative Workshop with professional technical support from our experts.
3D scanning is a process by which a desired object can be digitised or captured on a computer. The digitised object can be used for dimensional inspection, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, 3D visualisation and archiving.
In the Creation Room we use the Einscan-SE 3D scanner, which allows us to capture an object with a resolution of up to 0.1 mm and a size of up to 200 mm3. Since the scanning is done by projecting light rays onto the scanned object, it must not be too dark or reflective (which is solved by simply painting the object).
The 3D scanner is most often used for irregularly shaped objects that are not ideal for replication via 3D software.
Is prior knowledge of 3D scanning required?
No prior knowledge of 3D scanning is required to attend the course.
Is there anything I can bring to the 3D scan?
Yes, of course, but provided the object does not exceed a size greater than 200 mm3.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
No, all the equipment and supplies are provided by the CTK Workshop.
Can I 3D print a scanned object?
Yes, you can print your 3D object on our 3D printer.

We offer a 3D sculpting course in Zbrush on Fridays at 10:00. The course lasts for 1.5 hours or as required.
Zbrush is the leading software for 3D modelling, digital sculpting and high-resolution 3D model making. It is primarily used for designing organic objects such as statues, figures, people, animals and plants, as well as for designing prototypes, vehicles, jewellery, fashion accessories and other works of art.
In this course, we will slowly and completely learn and explain the basic tools, menus and different functions such as Dynemes, subdivisions, zremeseh, polypaint and different digital sculpting techniques using the different brushes offered by the 3D sculpting software. We will learn how to navigate through the interface, we will be told the different principles to know for modelling the head, torso, arms and legs, and we will learn how to use the most important features of Zbrush as we go along. We will use the Huion graphic tablet to help us with the 3D modeling.

We offer our users a course to use the sewing machines independently, if needed. The course lasts approximately 1 hour. Completion of the course allows you to use the sewing machine independently in the CTK Creative Workshop with professional technical support from our experts.
The course will introduce you to the sewing machine. We will look at its different functions and how a sewing machine actually works. We will learn how to properly thread the thread, and we will look at the different stitches and how to use them correctly in our sewing. We will also learn about some basic sewing tools and the most common materials used in sewing. And finally, we will sew something together.

Brazing is the process of joining different metal parts together with a suitable alloy that has a much lower melting point than the parts being joined. The joining alloy is called solder, which allows the metal parts to be joined together in a liquid state during joining. Brazing differs from welding in that, in welding, parts are joined with the same or a similar alloy as the parts being joined.
Soldering is a basic process in electronics that connects different elements together. Elements are connected together on a special board called a printed circuit board, but they can also be connected directly to each other. This course will introduce and explain the different basic concepts and processes of soldering in electronics.

Join our workshop to learn the basics of programming and using electronic components with Arduino. You will learn how to build your own smart devices and interactive projects, even without prior knowledge.
Arduino is a user-friendly platform that combines a microcontroller board, such as the Arduino UNO, and a development environment for programming. Its simplicity makes it ideal for beginners and allows the rapid creation of practical projects. It can be used for device automation, robotic projects, art installations or prototype development.
This workshop will introduce you to the basics of electrical engineering and an introduction to the C++ programming language. We will explore the functionalities of the Arduino board and how to control different sensors and electronic components with it. The aim of the workshop is to learn how to create practical projects and to get a basis for further research.
The workshop is open to all library members interested in electronics and programming. Places are limited, so pre-registration is required. Feel free to get creative!
